About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Where does a retired Canadian teacher go in Hong Kong to get an L Visa to live in Mainland PRC?

My Z type expires August 20th, and even though I am going back to Canada this summer from July 4-16, I would rather get my L type in Hong Kong. Do you know the address where I go?

or
Since I am over 60, can I apply for a resident permit instead of an L type?

Richard, if you don’t have HK residence permit, it’s not easy for you to get the L type from there, but you can have a try! You should apply for it at the office of commissioner of the ministry of foreign affairs of PRC in HK. Address: 42 Kennedy Road, Central, Hong Kong Tel: +852-21066303
If it cannot be done, you should apply for it in your home country.
If you have family member in PRC, you can possibly apply for the residence permit. Otherwise, I’m afraid you cannot apply for it.
