English in Shaoxing

Is there enough English spoken or signage to be able to do a tour of the city without a tour guide.
If you can't read chinese or speak mandarin is it easy to get to the train station without a guide?

Hi, only a very small part of people speak English there, and the English signages can only be found at the major attractions or large public places like railway station. Generally, it is ok to tour around without a guide, because I can see the local people are nice to foreigners. If traveling between the spots of interest, hiring a taxi can save much trouble. And of course you'd better prepare the Chinese characters of ur destinations in case.
