About:Marriage Registration in China

India Boy Married Chinese Girl At Hong Kong.

Hi, Me (Indian ) And My Wife ( Chinese ) Registered Our Marriage At HongKong, Our Marriage Certificate Is Issued By Marriage Registry Of Hong Kong And Attested By HongKong High Court As An Apostille Document For International Use/Recognition And By The Indian Embassy For India Specific Use/Recognition. My Question Is That Do I Need To Get It Attested By China Appointed Attestation Officer Or Chinese Consulate In Hong Kong For Use In China Or The Hong Kong Issued Marriage Certificate Is Self Recognized In China By Exit Entry Dept. For Issuance Of Resident Permit?

I don’t think you need to get it attested by mainland PRC appointed attestation officer or Chinese office in HK. The HK issued marriage certificate can be used in mainland PRC.

You Don't Think So Or You Are Certain About That It Is Not Needed, Because I Need Definite Answer. If You Are Uncertain Even Slightly You Can Assist Me To Identify The Right Department From Where I Can Enquire About It.

HK marriage certificate cannot be used in mainland PRC directly. You need to get the marriage certificate attested first at the office of the commissioner of the ministry of foreign affairs of PRC in HK and then it can be used.

Jenny, I Specifically Mentioned That My Certificate Has An Apostille Stamp Of HK High Court, And I Believe That China Is A Member To Apostille Hague Convention, So What That Technically Means Is That There Shouldn't Be A Problem In Acceptance Of This Certificate At Any Member State Of Apostille Convention Including China. Can You Opine On This?

why not try on your own if your not willing to listen to others opinion, your asking an opinion then someone provides it, if your not satisfied on it then try it on your own for you to know what will be the outcome if it can be accepted in china or not

They Did Not Opiniate They Gave Conclusive Advice, But Thanks Anyway To Every One Including You Ms.Ann, And Specifically For My Question I Found Out Yes It Is Accepted, But This Acceptance Is Limited To HK Issued Certificates, If The Certificate Is Issued In Any Other Country, Bearer Would Require To Get It Attested From Chinese Consulate Of That Specific Country Where It Was Issued, And Keeping Up With Ms.Ann's Advice, This Is Just An Informative Website That Provides Opinions About China Related Matters, If Any Of The Readers Have Serious Matters At Hand, They Must Not Rely Only On The Information/Opinions Provided Here, They Must Cross Check With Government Agencies Which By The Way Are Extraordinarily Supportive.
