About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

What kind of visa and what is the procedure to get it?

Hello, I am Antonio from Mexico and currently I´m living in Tokyo. I have to attend a 4-day conference in Shanghai next month. I read something about that I have to get the Chinese visa via a travel agency, but I want to know if I could apply by myself directly in the embassy and what is the procedure and documents I need.

Antonio, you can apply for it by yourself. You can apply for an M or F type to attend the conference in Shanghai.
The first step is to prepare the relevant documents including your passport and copy of its data page, the application form, a recently-taken half-length color photo, your residence permit in Japan, and an invitation letter from the conference organizer.
Next, submit the application t the embassy of PRC to apply for it.
