About:China Visa

Am i eligible for a home return permit to China please?

My father was born in 1916 in the island of Hainan, PRC. He went to Malaysia at a very young age to seek a better living. Later he settled down got married and had a family hence didn't return to PRC. I was born in Malaysia, went to the UK to study, married a Hong Kong man and we are all holding British passports! My husband and children also hold permanent HKID and full home return permits (10 year validity and renewable). I have a temporary HKID and every year I have to apply for a 6 months multi entries visa to mainland PRC ( for many years it was double entries only but for the last 3 years multi entries were granted!) Do you think if i have all the paperwork i might have a chance of getting a home return permit?

I’m afraid you cannot get the Home Return Permit because you just temporary HKID. Because you hold UK passport, you can probably apply for the 2-year multiple-entry visa, which can also save a lot of trouble.
