How do we go to Lantau Island from Yau Ma Tei station?

Hi. we will be staying at Inn Hotel HK in Sept 2016. Also is Lantau island good for trekking or any recommendation?

Take MTR Tsuen Wan Line from Yau Ma Tei Station to Lai King Station, and change to MTR Tung Chung line to Tung Chung Station, which is located on the island. The trip takes about 40 minutes, and the fare is HKD 16.5.

It is a good place for trekking. But you can also experience the Ngong Ping 360 cable car. You can take the cable car up to see Big Buddha & Po Lin Monastery. Also, you can go to explore Tai O fishing village. Have fun!

For casual walk, which is easier Lantau or Lamma Island?

Lamma Island is a better choice for you to take a casual walk. You may follow this toute to the island. First, take bus line 970X from Man Ming Lane, Nathan Road Station to Aberdeen Station. Then, take a ferry to Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier on the island from Aberdeen Pier. The fare totals HKD 28.5, and the trip takes about 105 minutes. Have fun! :)
