About:China Tourist Visa

Where to go inside China?

I've heard that from within China, the only option for finding a consulate to apply for a tourist visa is to go to Hong Kong. I'm already here with a temporary residents permit, and I want to extend my stay by acquiring a tourist L type. Is there a closer option?

Emily, if you have HK residence permit, it’s possible for you to get a tourist L type from there. Otherwise, it’s difficult to get it from there.
Actually, you can try to change your current entry permit to a tourist L type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. In this case, you don’t need to exit mainland PRC.
