About:Songshan Mountain

I'm planning a trip to Zhengzhou and I have a few questions about Songshan.

How far is it from the city to get to the mountain? Also about how far is the hike up or is there a bus/cable car that goes to the top? Are there hostels at the top to stay and, if so, is it necessary to book in advance?

It is about 50 miles (81km) from downtown. You can take a bus to Dengfeng from Passenger Transport Center to the opposite of ZZ Railway Station. The buses are available form 6:00 to 20:00, and the trip takes about 1 hour. The fare is CNY 28. Upon arrival, take a taxi to the mountain for about CNY 10.

It takes about 4 hours to hike up. Yes, there are cable cars available. There are no hostels on the mountain. Most visitors stay at the foot of the mountain. You needn't book the hotels in advance. Just walk in and check in. Don't worry! :)
