Hi:I want to purchase two 2nd class tickets for the trip from Beijing to Xian. if I don't choose the seats in advance can we two sit together? (I read the system radomly chooses the seat allocation).Another question: is there any luggage size restriction?.Thanks

Although they are sold randomly but usually if still many tickets left, it is still possible to have the two seats together. You can inform the booking agent about your request. It says each passenger can take 20kg for luggage but it is not really a strict restriction. It is still OK even you take more than that as long as the luggage do not looks so much.
