Day Trip to Great Wall

Please could someone tell me if I am able to visit The Great Wall whilst using a free 72 hour Visa obtained in Beijing. I have a hotel booked in Beijing for the 3 nights I will be there so I will not be visiting another city, just The Great Wall and I will not be staying overnight outside Beijing. Thank you.
