About:China Student Visa

Travelling around China with a student visa

I will be starting a Mandarin Course in Haikou in a few weeks and am about to apply for my student X type. During my stay there I will want to travel to other cities on mainland PRC. Will my student X type allow me to travel PRC freely as a tourist as well or do I actually need both a tourist and student X type to be able to do that?

Giuseppe, the student X type will allow you to travel around PRC freely. You don’t need to apply for a tourist L type. Besides, you cannot hold two entry permits at the same time.
