Pingyao Trip

May I know where to get the joint tickets? How long do I need to visit the Qiao compound? How and where do i charter a car for 5 pax to the Qiao compound and at what cost? After 18:30hrs, are the shops on Ming-Qing street still open?

You can purchase the joint tickets at any of the ticket offices in the ancient town. You will find it easily. The suggested visiting time for Qiao compound is 2 to 3 hours. Most hotels and guesthouses in the ancient town provide chartered services to Qiao's Compound. The fare is around CNY50 per person. The shops on Ming-Qing Street may still open at 18:30.

It takes around 30-40 minutes to drive from Pingyao Ancient Town to Qiao compound.

Are the taxis readily available at Pingyao Ancient Town Railway Station?

Yes, there are taxis available at the railway station. If you go to Qiao compound, you can go to Pingyao Long-distance Bus Station and take bus bound for Taiyuan, get off at Qiao compound stop. Or you may charter a car with other travelers from a local hostel.
