I've two small antique silver serving pieces (sugar bowl & cream pitcher) to give to our son .

Our American son will have his wedding in China. Do I have to declare them?

According to the regulation, silver containers which will be taken into China, should be within 625g, and you have to declare that. You'd better confirm this further from ur airlines or Chinese entry-exit administrative office.
