Can a mount fireplace be placed on the wall that faces the front door?

Making the fireplace facing the door should not be very appropriate. Accoring to Chinese culture, fire stands for prosperity. To see the fire the moment you open the door may let out the good fortune. You may consider setting a shelf or curtain in between.
