It is a bit expensive to charter a car from downtown to Simatai Great Wall, the fare may around CNY500-800 per car. You are suggested to take bus 980 from Dongzhimen Transit Hub to Miyun Bus Station, then transfer to bus Mi 37, Mi 50 or Mi 51 to the great wall.
