About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Do I need a visa for a 5-6 hour visit to Beijing while in transit

I will be in Beijing for about 8hours while on my way to the UK from Australia and would like to spend a 5-6 hours in Beijing while there rather than staying in the airport during this time. Do I need a visa and if so what will be the cost.

Hi, Ian, you don't need it. You can enjoy the free transit policy in Beijing and you are allowed to go out of the airport if you apply for a temporary stay permit upon arrival. It's free.
