About:Visa Policy of China

Which visa should I apply? please advise

I`m holding a Malaysian passport and permanent resident permit in Japan. I will travel to London from Tokyo and will transit at Beijing for not more than 24 hours. I would like to visit Beijing for a while before my flight to London. Which type should I apply? Do I need to apply two times because I will use the same route when go back from London to Tokyo?

Adinaru, if your layover in Beijing is less than 24 hours respectively for both transits, you don’t need to apply for any entry permit because you can make use of the 24 hour direct transit there.
But if your second stop in Beijing is more than 24 hours when you return, a transit G type or tourist L type is needed.

Visa is needed if you plan to leave the airport for Malaysian Passport. It is not needed unless you stay within transit area.
