About:China Tourist Visa

free transit in Beijing and Shanghai

Hello,
I am eligible for the 72 and 144 hour visas, can i go first to Beijing for 1 day and then on to Shanghai for 5 days on the respective free transit?

No, you cannot do that under the 144 hour frère transit.
If you use the 144 hour fre4e transit in Shanghai, you are only allowed to travel around Shanghai, Jiangsu or Zhejiang. You cannot visit Beijing.
Or if you enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing, you are only allowed to travel around Beijing and you cannot visit other cities.
