About:Beijing - Tianjin Intercity High Speed Train

Shall i book bullet train advance for Tianjin-Beijing-Tianjin (return on same day)both ways?

I need to go to BJ than back on the same day (at night) on 20/May/2016.
Shall i book bullet in advance for both ways?

For this short trip I think it would be OK to buy on the day of travel if you are not on a very tight schedule. You may check the availability often online and if you find the schedule suitable for you become limited, you may book online in advance.
