About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Medical Exam for Z Visa, is chest and ECG result print out necessary? or can doctor sign off ?

Hi, just curious - last time I went to China in 2016, I did the foreigner examination, it was lengthy and cost me a lot stateside (also battled with insurance over coding!). Now, going back to PRC, but I want to know if I REALLY need to include the chest x-ray and ecg results, besides the doctor checking and signing off on it? I know once you get into the country, they (administration) whisk you off to get another exam. I wonder if it's worth it to shell out 1k for exams that are a bit unnecessary. I'm more than willing to pay for it while in PRC, and I'm also worried the school is asking us to do it here so they won't have to pay for it when we arrive. I'll be going to Guangzhou this time around (last time, was in Qingdao). Thanks for your advice!

Vix, if you apply for work Z type, the medical examination may not be required.
Once you get the work Z type and enter PRC, you need to apply for a temporary residence permit and then the medical examination is needed. You need to do the examination at the International Travel Healthcare and MedicalCenter.
