mode of transport from chengdu to emeishan

Question

Hi, which is the fastest or most convenient mode of transport from chengdu to the mountain? Is it better to travel by bus from xinnanmen or by train from Chengdu south railway station?  And is it possible to tour the mount within the day and travel back to Chengdu. Thank you.

I suggest you take a bullet train from South Railway Station to Emeishan Station. The train schedule is frequent, and the duration is about 1.5 hours. One day is never enough to tour the mountain, you need at least two or three days for it. For one day tour, I recommend you go to Qingcheng Mountain or Leshan Giant Buddha. The bullet trains are also available to these two places.
