M visa entry by Nepalese citizen

My Nepalese friend has his M type for PRC. He has heard from friends that he is required to have US $500 with him when he arrives in PRC or he will be refused entry. I don't think this is true. Can anyone clarity this for me?
Thanks

Joe, it is hard to say. Sometimes, even though you hold valid entry permit, you may be refused entry. Your friend is advised to take some amount of show money to go there in case that it is required.
