About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Urgt 144h visit question

Can I have the 144h free transit in Shanghai with this set up:
I am leaving on 3rd may (can't change my ticket and hotel)

Example : Switzerland - Amsterdam- Shanghai (144hours) - Amsterdam- Switzerland - France ?

(can it be train from Switzerland to Paris, France or does it need to be a flight?
Also does it needs to be right after or can it be few days after? meaning =>Switzerland 3rd may - Amsterdam- Shanghai (144hours) - 9th may Amsterdam- Switzerland - 12may France ?)

(No embassy available to give me an express visa otherwise, so I don't know what will happen to me when I get to Shanghai if this does not work...) if you have any recommendations I would like to hear . Besides my tickets and hotel are of course not refundable..

(I am French and live in Switzerland)

Jan, the travel route Switzerland - Amsterdam- Shanghai (144hours) - Amsterdam- Switzerland – France cannot allow you to enjoy the 144 hour free transit. It’s because you fly back to Amsterdam after your stopover in Shanghai, but according to the policy, you should fly to a third country or region. Of course, you can take a train from Switzerland to Paris and it doesn’t have to be flight travel.
You are advised to apply for a tourist L type ahead of your journey!

Ok then I will change my ticket to go to Philippines after Shanghai, so that it does this:
Switzerland - Amsterdam- Shanghai (144hours) - Manila Philippines- Amsterdam- Switzerland

Does that sounds good ?
Also, I will have to buy a separate local ticket from Shanghai to Manilla Philippines ..

(I can't have the entry permit on time here, so I have no choice)

If so, you can enjoy the free transit in Shanghai. Separate ticket is okay.
