About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I assume no visa for China is required if I am in Shanghai (from cruise ship) for only 16 hours?

Milo, the premise is that the next destination you will go to is different from the last one you departed after transiting in Shanghai. In this case, no entry permit is needed.

Thank you Dolly. Premise is correct - coming from Nagasaki, Japan on cruise ship, then Shanghai for 16 hours, then on to Okinawa, Japan. Appreciate the clarification.
