is it possible to submit an application for a tourist visareceive it back same day

I am flying from New York to Los Angeles and have a day layover in LAX. I found out the New York consulate takes 3-5 business days to process tourist L type applications.However, someone told me that the consulate in Los Angeles can process a tourist L type application in 1 day. Is this true?

Hi Michael, for what I know, it takes two or three working days at the consulate in LA to process the L type application. And if you do not live in the consular district of LA consulate, you can't apply from there.
