Original Certificates required?

My employer has requested that I send them my original degree and Tesol certificates as part of the documentation needed for the process of the invitation letter and Z visa. Is this correct? Apparently there have been new changes made at the beginning of 2016 that has stated that notarised copies are now no longer accepted.

ER, in some cities, the original certificates are required. So it is correct. After your employer get the work permit and invitation letter of a duly authorized unit for you, your original certificates will be given back to you. Don’t worry!
