About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

BKK to Shangai, then Shangai to BKK, < 144 hours

Hello,
I am French citizen (French passeport) flying from Bangkok to Shangai, and less than 144 hours later, from Shangai to BKK (with a visa for staying in Thailand). Can I be eligible to this 144 hours free transit in China? Thanks !

Hello there! You are not eligible for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai because after your stopover in Shanghai, you fly back to Bangkok, but according to the policy, you should fly to a third country or region. So if you want to travel like that, you should apply for a tourist L type beforehand.
