Anna, yes, he can sponsor you in getting a visa. You can apply for a tourist L type to enter PRC and visit him. Except the basic required documents including your passport and copy of its data page, the application form, a passport style photo and an invitation letter from your boyfriend, you may also need to provide proof of your financial support and you can provide his bank savings account as the proof.0
