About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

may i ask a question about VISA for China?

Dear sir
I am Chittavong, I am Laotian
i need to trip to Laos,
I want to buy air ticket from Tokyo-Chaighai- Kunming- Vientiane( Laos)
I have to transit twice( Chaighai and Kunming )
I have to apply an entry permit for PRC?
I have no plan to go outside airport.

Hi Chittavong, so you mean to transit in Shanghai and Kunming? If yes, under the condition that your total layover time in these two cities does not exceed 24 hours, the transit G type is not required. Otherwise, you need to apply for a G type.

Transit G type means transit G visa which is issued to those who are going to transit through China en route to a third country (or region).
