About:China Family Reunion Visa

PRC visit requirements for a baby with Chinese mother and UK passport.

My wife is a valid PRC passport holder, and she owns a property in PRC.
She has a UK residence permit and we have a six month old baby, who holds a UK passport.
My wife, with our baby, wants to visit her parents in PRC and will be staying at her own residence and sometimes with her parents.
1. Does our baby require an invitation letter?
2. If required, can my wife write the invitation letter?
3. Does the baby's Birth Certificate need to be attested?

Please advise
Many thanks

Alan, does you wife hold a permanent UK reisdence permit? If yes, you baby should get a visa. If not, your baby should apply for a travel document.

In case that the baby needs to get a visa, you can actually add the baby's name on your passport and apply for the baby as an accompanying person so that you can share a set of application documents. The invitation is needed if you apply for the Q type. But I'm afraid the one from your wife is not ok. You can ask your parents-in-law to issue the letter. Your baby's birth certificate need to be attested.
