estimated time from guangzhou east station to foshan

Question

I would like to inquire about the estimated total time it may take to take the Guangzhou subway from Guangzhou East station (as I will be coming in from Hong Kong on the Guangdong-Kowloon MTR Intercity through Train) on Line 1 down to Xilang, the wait time to transfer to the Guangfo line and the time it will take to travel to the terminal station on the Guangfo line. I would like to know estimated total time during normal and peak rush hour time.As well, if you may have any recommendations in terms of other options as my family would like to travel from Guangzhou into Foshan to visit family.Thank you for your help!

It would need around 35 minutes taking line 1 to get to Xilang. The ticket fare is CNY 5 per person. You can transfer to Guangfo there without exiting the subway station. Usually, the wait time for the Guangfo Line is 5 minutes at most and it will take another 35 minutes to get to the terminal station. The total estimated time is around 80 minutes.As far as I know, taking subway should be the most convenient and fastest way to get to Foshan from Guangzhou East Railway Station.

Sara, I'm glad to help! Yes, 80 mins is an average estimate. Although you don't need to worry about encountering traffic jam by taking subway, you still need to avoid the morning peak during 7:30 – 9:30 for there will be crowded passengers and it may not be a very comfortable trip.
