Duration of stay - multiple entry visa

I'm an Australian passport holder looking at getting a year long, mutiple entry permit. I've read that duration of stay can be 30, 60, or 90 days.

Can you confirm what the usual number is? Should I budget for the sixty day in my planning? Or can I book with 90 days in mind and not have to worry too much?

Hi Chris, the usual number is 30 or 60, depending on your travel plan and the dates of your round-trip flight tickets. I don't advise you to book the total accommodation for all 90 days. You can just budget the sixty days in your plan. Anyway, you can indicate in the application form that you want a 90-day stay duration.

In addition, if you can't get a 90-day stay duration, it's possible to extend the stay length after entering China.

Fantastic! Thanks for the prompt and detailed response. I've arranged sixty (58 or so, actually) days for now and I'd be happy with the 60 day duration of stay. Plenty of nearby countries I can't wait to explore :)
