I am wondering if you refer to recommended travel route or transportation? Anyway, for the former, you can follow the route: Taipei - Sun Moon Lake - Hualien - Kaohsiung, which is enough for your one week stay. For the latter, train and long-distance bus are very convenient. They lead to many places there. Just enjoy yourselves!1

Hi, public transportation is recommended, and it is very convenient. Only for some remote rural trips, you may need to hire a car.1
