About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Tourist visa for over 3 months

hi, I booked a ticket Brussels - Peking departing on Aug 27 and return on Dec 3 - I would like to apply for an L type with multiple entry as I heard I would not get an entry permit for more than 1 month. What are my options to travel as much as possible in China please? if need be, we could go to Taiwan for 3 weeks and come back to PRC but need to take my flight back from Peking. Many thanks

Myriam, in my opinion, you can apply for a three-month double-entry permit or 6-month multiple entry permit. However, if you have not visited PRC before, it's not easy to get the latter. If you can get the 3-month double-entry with a stay duration of 30 days, you can travel to China on Aug 27. Then exit mainland PRC to Taiwan, stay there for 3 weeks and go back to mainland. Then you can stay for another 30 days. Before the 30 days are used up, go to the local exit and entry administration office to extend your L type. All these processes are only possibilities. I'm not sure whether everything can go smoothly.

Anyway, if you can't extend or get the double or multiple entry permit, you can use the single-entry to enter. Then travel to HK to apply for another entry permit to mainland.
