What should my son wear?

My son who is English and lives in Canada where he has met his Chinese bride to be. They plan to have an official wedding in Canada but then go to China to meet the extended family and have the "wedding party" and we will be going to China also. We would like some advice as to how to dress appropriately. With thanks. D Parr.
