Hello if I buy a one way air ticket for China what visa do I apply for I have my American passport already just missing the Chinese visa thanks for the help

Xavier, it depends on your travel purpose actually. If you travel for leisure purpose, you can apply for an L type. If for business, apply for an M type. If for transit, apply for a G type.
