About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

French living in Hong kong can enjoy the 72h free Visa transit?

Hello,
I'm a french passport holder, I'm a resident in Hong Kong and would like to go for a Week-end to Shanghai.
When you talk about the qualified countries, you are talking about the nationality or the origin of the journey?
Thank you for your help!

Dear, France belongs to the 51 countries. So you can apply for it. But it also depends on your travel route.
If you fly to a third country or region rather than HK after transiting in Shanghai, you can get the free transit.
