About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

LAX-CAN-MNL

If i book a trip from LAX-CAN-MNL, can i use a 12 hour direct transit if i want to visit hong kong? Flight arrives CAN on 4/20. Will take train to hong kong same day. Leave hong kong 4/26 back to CAN and depart to MNL that same day. Will i have any issues? Also, do i need to prebook my train ticket to show immigration officer?
Thanks

I go to H K all the time and no visa is needed with a USA(and most likely Canadian) passport. I stay a week or more sometimes.

Ray, I think it's ok as you are eligible for 24-hour direct transit policy both times. You need to prebook your train ticket to show immigration officers.
