passport to expire in 10 months

Question

my passport will expire in 10 months time, i wrote the cameroon embassy in Beijing for the renewal, they said, my passport should be valid for 6 months , but im confused here because, i need to renew a one year visa, so what should i do, i cant wait till six months my present visa will expire soon

Dear, usually, when your passport has a remaining validity of less than 6 months, you can apply for a renewal. Of course, you can renew your visa currently, but the validity of the visa you will get will be the same as the remaining validity of your passport.
