About:Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Accomodation and camping in Zhangjiajie

Where is the best area to stay for easy access to the park? Is it possible to spend a few days within the park and camp?

You may stay near the Wulingyuan Bus Station. The Santo Domingo International Hotel at No. 8, Guihua Road is recommended. It is to the opposite of the bus station. You may take a bus to the park (about 30 minutes). The buses are available from 6:30 to 17:30 at an inteval of 25 minutes. The fare is CNY10.
Besides, after entering the scenic area, it's also ok for you to stay at a hotel inside. You can easily find a nice and budget hotel in usual time. In this way, you can still appreciate the beautiful scenery from the hotel window. However, I am sorry to tell you that camping is forbidden there.

Camping in the park is the best thing you can do. We did it with my friend and didn't meet ANY problems. Moreover the view is amazing in the morning

Any particular areas you camped in? Are there any outdoor stores in Zjj for gas?

As I know, you can go camping in front of the hostels inside the scenic area. I am afraid that gas is strictly prohibited there.

I am in the park now, and thought anyone else reading this feed would be interested to know. There is a China YHA in the park and is worth staying at as it is central and the bus will stop right outside. Also gives you good options to see the 3 different areas over 3 days. Apparently it can be booked but we just turned up. Failing that the locals are always offering a bed for the night so if you want to be flexible then you can just show up to the park. So leave all the camping gear behind!
