About:China Visa

Do I need to buy all travel tickets, including return trip back to US, before applying for visa?

Faith, in principle, you should do that before you apply for visa. But if you know someone in PRC, you can ask him/her to issue an invitation letter to you. If so, you may not need to buy the tickets in advance.
