can I convert S1 visa to work Z visa?

hi there! i want to ask you something. my question is i have my family visa which is s1 type. if i want to transfer it to work Z type should i go back to my country to confirm it or i can transfer it straight here in china?

Hi there! You can try to change S type to Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in PRC directly, but if it cannot be done, I’m afraid you need to go back to your home country and apply for a work Z type.
