getting Z visa while on a student X type

I'm Syrian citizen live in China currently i hold a student X type , can I travel with my student X type during my study then get Z type from another country I should cancel it first from PRC then travel to another country to get the Z type?

Dear, actually, you can try to convert your X type to work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in PRC, but if it cannot work. You can travel to another country and try to apply for work Z type. And you may need to cancel your residence permit first.
