I currently hold a student X type which runs out July 31st 2016. Is it possible to obtain a 2 year multiple entry tourist L type within China to begin when this X type expires? I hold a British passport and have Chinese Nationals who are willing to provide accommodation and a letter of invitation.

DM, it’s possible to apply for L type before your X type expires. But as for the validity of an L type, I’m not sure how long you can get! Just have a try!

Thanks Ed. I just wish I could be guaranteed a 2 year multiple entry tourist visa. Nobody seems to be able to know for certain you have to just take a chance and hope for the best! Crazy in my eyes, how can people plan? Lol
