About:China Tourist Visa

Which VISA is easiest?

I am starting work in China, I have been advised best to go in on L type (60 days) and then process onto the Z type. If so, the invitation letter needs to be 60 days only and not mention I am working there? Just a general letter of invite for 60 days correct?

Anthony, the tourist L type is easier to get than the Z type. However, it's not so easy to convert the L type to Z type without leaving PRC. So if you want to work in PRC, you had better directly apply for the Z type when you are in your country.

Anyway, if you want to enter on an L type and then process onto the Z type, you can apply for the L type with an invitation letter and you should not mention your plan to work there. The invitation letter can state that you want to stay for 60 days. If the invitation letter is issued by a company, it's better to apply for the M type instead of the L type.
