Chinese Visa application with a criminal record

Will i be able to get a Chinese entry permit with an assault causing bodily harm from charge October 2007.. it was my first and last offense :( i did serve 9 months time for it... i truly want to be honest on my application but i'm scared to be denied. I would any recommendations, thoughts, comments would be greatly appreciated...

Hi Kimmie. To be honest, whether to indicate your criminal record on the application form is up to you. In principle, you should be honest, but it may have some bad influences on your application result. However, if you lie, once the officer finds out, you may face more serious consequences.
