chinese visa with passport that expires in two months

Hey guys . I was planning to travel to china next week and going to get my entry permit tomorrow. I just realized my passport expires in two months. Do you guys know how strict is the rule that your passport had to be good for 6 months to get an entry permit. I will only be there for a week and my current pssport will have another month after i come back. Any thoughs?

Maria, as far as I know, when you apply for Chinese visa, your passport must have a remaining validity of at least 6 months. So I’m afraid you cannot apply for it with your current passport. You should renew your passport first and then apply for the visa.

i would still give at a try.Japan for instance has no 6 month requirement.
Vietnam has but doesnt always enforce it as in my case.
