How easy is it to get a Chinese work visa

I've been working in Chengdu for a month and love the place and was wondering how easy it is to get a work Z type once you find a job. I'm a British passport holder and don't speak any Chinese. I'm a welder by trade but don't have any degrees or anything. Just my welding certificate. Thanks in advance Luke

Luke, if you can find a company to employ you, and then the employer can get you the alien employment permit and invitation letter of a duly authorized unit. After that, you can apply for work Z type.
When the employer apply for the alien employment permit for you, the degree and work experience are required. As you said, you have relevant welding certificate, I think it can probably help you to get the permit. You can have a try.
