Do I need a Visa to change terminals?

Currently I am in China studying and before I return home I want to travel to Indonesia. My plan currently is to fly from Beijing to Jakarta, then from Bali back into Beijing, to then catch my connecting flight back home to Manchester. Currently i plan to leave my suitcase at a left luggage service in Beijing airport, which I will then pick up again when I fly in from Bali. However I don't know which side of passport control this service will be on, or whether my two connecting flights (arriving from Bali, departing to Manchester) will be to/from the same terminal. What I would like to know is, will i need to obtain an entry permitto pick up my luggage from before passport control? And will I need one to change terminals? I know I don't need it currently as i have booked my connecting flight and the stay in the aiport is less than 24 hours, but will I need one simply to collect my luggage or change terminals?/

The left luggage offices are as follows:
Terminal 1: The left-luggage counters is on the east of Corridor between T1 to T2
Terminal 2: The left-luggage counters are near gate 9 in the arrival hall on the first floor and gate 10 and gate 8 on the departure hall on the second floor
Terminal 3: East of public space of Arrival Hall at 2nd floor of T3-C; and West of public space of Arrival Hall at 2nd floor of T3-C.

If you need to pick up your luggage before the passport control or change terminals, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit, but you may need to apply for a temporary stay permit.
