Do Bahamians need a visa to enter china

I am a Bahamian, i called the chinese embasy where they said Bahamians do not need a travel tourist L type to stay in PRC for less than 30 days. I want to book a cruise sinorama.ca where they are saying i have to apply for a chinese entry permit. As a Bahamian do i need one or do i not need it to enter PRC from Canada?

Pat, according to the free entry agreement signed on Feb. 12, 2014, Bahamians do not need the entry permit for PRC if the stay is not more 30 days.
